A: Since your question lacks some details the best bet is to use the manual that came with it. If you don't have the manual you can usually go the manufacturers website and retrieve a manual with the model number. The usual steps are to install the software and drivers, they should have came on a cd with the scanner. If you don't have the cd you can usually download the software from the manufacturer by way of the model number, it's usually found in the downloads and/or support portion of the site. Once the software is installed you connect the scanner and it will usually finish installing itself and once you restart, (if a restart is required), then you can run your scanner from your computer via the sofware. Those are the basics steps from the scanners I've installed on my own computer in the past, but the manual for it's make and model is always the best resource.
