Scanner trouble! Help!!

Q: I have an HP Photosmart C3150 All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier and I am tryign to scan art for my friend but the scanner wont scan! This has happened before but it usually starts to work. The power light blinks a bunch of times and then stops blinking but the scanning doesn't start. Has this happened to anyone else? What is it? How can I get it to scan?! Thank you in advance! I tried and then once all the noise was finished I tried again when the scanner bar thing was at the very first place and it didn't work, then once the bar moved over a few inches I tried again and it didn't work. Should I try again and not attempt to scan when the bar is at the first position? D:

A: Yeah, it's probably warming up the lamp or calibrating it, then timing out on the scan. Try using the preview first, and see if it gives you any messages about warming up or calibrating. There's no easy fix except to unhook the scanner from the PC, then shut down the PC (totally off), then start up the PC again, log in, wait about 5 minutes, then hook up the scanner again. It might say "New Hardware Found" or it might just give you the little arrow shaped "Device Connected" icon in the tasktray. Then try again to scan. There are more advanced ways to fix it, but they're pretty messy and tedious, so I'll just hope that's enough. Update your question if that doesn't fix it.
