A: Windows "says" they have virus and spyware protection programs, but I don't know how well they work. For virus protection, I use AVG 8.0 Free. Downloaded from the Internet. Works well and is totally free. For spyware protection, I use Ad-aware (by Lavasoft) and Spybot, both downloaded free from the Internet. Both work well. AVG and Spybot can be set to run daily (while you aren't using the computer). Ad-aware has to be run manually.
