need help in installing hp scanner to computer?

Q: I have a hp psc2110 all-in-one printer-scanner-copier, the printer and the copier work but when i try to scan (i'm trying to scan my passport picture onto the computer) it states- no scan options. you need to install or run hp software for feature, press enter to continue, but when i press enter nothing happens. how can i install it onto my computer. I know most computers need a disc or USB but i have neither. Is there any other way because i need to get this done today. (oh and the computer i have is a Gatway EV700)

A: You can scan with the built-in feature of Windows operating system called Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) instead of through the HP software. Follow these steps to perform a WIA scan. Make sure that the product power is turned on and the cable is correctly connected. Click Start , and then click Control Panel . Click Printers and Other hardware , and then click Scanners and Cameras . Look for an icon representing the product, and then review the following information for further instructions: If there is not an icon representing the product, click here skip to steps for uninstalling and reinstalling the software in this document . If there is an icon representing the product, continue with the steps in this procedure. Double-click the icon to start the Scanner and Camera Wizard . Follow the on-screen instructions to scan images or documents to the computer. If the WIA scan was successful , you can use the Scanner and Camera Wizard to scan instead of the HP software. If you prefer to use the HP software, check URL below ; however, it is not necessary to do so. try scanning using paint. Start>all programs> accessories>paint then click file then scanners and cameras.
