Why can i not uninstall adobe reader. it says its a package?

Q: Iwant to install the latest version but cannot uninstall the present program

A: Hello, (ANS) NOTE:- Adobe's Acrobat Reader (free-ware PDF viewer) used to be a very good program originally but now has grown and grown and is now Bloat-ware. Its massive and has lots of bells & whistles that most users simply don't want or need. My sincere recommendation is to remove Adobe's acrobat reader & switch to the excellent 100% Free PDF Viewer made by Tracker Software. Its FAR far better than acrobat. Its free and has a much smaller foot print, has free updates. SEE:- http://www.pdfxviewer.com/ **If the abode setup files or the original installation is damaged in some way that might cause a problem with the removal (un-installation process) of the program. Its possible that acrobat is missing some vital registry settings? **TIP! navigate using windows explorer to the following folder location :- c:\program files\adobe\acrobat see if you can find a file called unwise.exe or uninst.exe (either of these files when run should uninstall acrobat). PS: If the above also fails you should try re-installing acrobat reader once again but install over the top of the old one. Once you have done that, reboot your system so the changes are written back into the windows registry. Next once back at the desktop, now try to un-install acrobat from control panel, add/remove applet. That should work!! Hope that helps? Ivan.
