Q: Lugging around a laptop computer attached to a mobile scanner is 1 option. Is there a better way? Maybe a stand-alone that stores images? Some other way that's simple to use, light to carry and cost effective? I'll be scanning documents in black & white -- no graphics -- and resolution doesn't have to be perfect. Ideas? Thanks!
A: The DocuPen by Planon might just be what you are looking for. According to the website, it's a stand-alone unit that stores the images so you can transfer to your PC later. The R700 is a b&w model, but it's not exactly cheap.
