Q: Can anyone help a dummy like me please? I have a xerox one touch 4800 scanner. I need to get a longer cable from pc to scanner so I can move it giving me more space on my desk. I asked in the pc shop and told them the name of the scanner but they didn't know what I was talking about. Don't they call them cables anymore? If their not called cables then what are they called now?
A: It almost certainly uses a standard USB cable, USB 2.0 speed rating, with a Type A plug on one end and a full-sized Type B plug on the other. I won't ask the name of the shop: I can guess.
