Q: I've been trying but I don't get it.
A: Depends on what kind of scanner you have. If the scanner is part of a multi-function machine,(Either a printer/scanner, or possibly a printer/scanner/copier/fax machine), you may have a Sheet-Fed scanner. Sort of looks like a typewriter that you put paper in. With this scanner, you have to turn the drawing away from you,(Turn it around, so that the backside of the drawing paper is towards you. Not trying to insult you.), and insert it in the machine like you would feed a piece of paper, into a typewriter. With a Flat Screen scanner you lay the drawing face down on the glass, and close the cover. With the scanner should be a CD. This CD needs to be installed in your CD or DVD-ROM drive. Let it run, and follow the instructions. It should want you to install the CD first, then plug the scanner into the computer with the USB cable. Then turn the scanner on. Give it a minute, or so to set itself up. If you have WindowsXP,(Home or Pro, doesn't matter.), click on Start, then hover your mouse cursor on All Programs, then slide the mouse cursor to the right, untill you see the scanner's name, or the manufacturer's name of the scanner. Move your mouse cursor around until you see something about scan. Click on it. A window should pop-up, and you should see a 'button' that says 'Scan'. Click on it.
