Q: I am really stuck just been given a scanner from freecycle and it is a epson GT-9500 it is a old one as it is very big and it came with a lead one end goes in teh back of the scanner the other end goes to the modem and it also plugs in. I was told i never needed a disc but i have switched it on it says on and ready on the green lights but not sure what i do now how do i get to scan a pic..sorry i am new to all this please help.. I have done all this as you suggested daniel but it is not doing anything at all very strange!!!
A: you need to look for the software. Usually it is included in the package that comes with the scanner. If not look for it online at Epson's website, probably something like www.epson.com/scanners/downloads. Then once you find the right software there will be an icon on the desktop if it is a mac, pc will be a little different, you will have to look for where it was downloaded from the internet to the computer. Probably in a downloads folder or documents folder. Then just install the software and your set!
