When I scan a Document, to edit it why does the white paper appear witha blue tinge on it?

Q: Hi guys, I am currently trying to scan a picture onto my computer using some sofwear to edit the pitcure (Fix phot is the softwear), However when I do this I find that the Scanner seems to pick up a lot of shadows on the paper fr some reason, which when I print it out appears like blueish smudges on the paper. I have tried altering the contrast and birghtness of the scanner which gets rid of the smudges but then the image appears blurred. It there anyway of scanning the picture so that the scanner dosnt pick up a load of shadows on the image, and if it does how to I get rid of them without blurring the image

A: Place the picture on the scanner glass, then put several / lots of sheets of white paper on top, then close the lid. This will help the paper contact the glass well and remove the bleed through. Ensure the picture is touching the glass. Set your scanner to Black and white or greyscale and scan again - this will remove the blue tinge. If you are scanning text. You may need to readjust the contrast/brightness again.
