A: If you're using the latest AVG Free Edition, go to the AVG Control Center (double-click the icon in the system tray), double click E-mail Scanner and hit the 'Disable Plugin' button. Alternatively, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, locate 'AVG Email Scanner' and set it to either Manual or Disabled.
