Q: IMRAN i did that, went to control panel and then clicked to cameras and scanners, i can see the scanner installed . then when i click on it and run the test, the scanner does some noise and then after 30 sec a message comes: the test failed because device is not available.Verify connnection and try again.
A: there is so called scanner finder..every scanner has it. but finder failed if it was not configured. to ensure the scanner is well installed, check mycomputer by right clicking it then choose properties. in system properties--go hardware tab then device manager. check lists. in control panel, go to add-remove programs..check if the scanner was really installed. Scanner really having noise upon connection, this is a series of test to itself if it is running..no need to worry. You need not to see any scanner physically installed just like a usb thumb drive...no. scanner is an imaging device, and a thumb drive is an storage device--they are not the same. to make it safe, plug first the scanner to your pc then restart pc...upon booting, the system will automatically be searching for the connected device..
