Q: I've just bought a (used) Xerox 2400 scanner and installed it OK. However, when I try to operate it the program keeps flagging the message, 'Please unlock your scanner'. I've checked the locking tab (on the underside of the casing) and it's off. I can't see anything physically obstructing the lamp carrier and the scanner appears to be in good condition. Any ideas?
A: We have seen this problem on the 2400, the scanner has a sense fault where it thinks that the unit has not been unlocked. In the one we repaired the scan head was not free to move, we took it to bits and lubricated the rails, this fixed the fault. So your fault may have the same problem ie scan head sticking. http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk
