Q: I have an HP 6200 All-in-One. I am getting vertical lines printed when using my auto feeder to scan. The lines show up when I scan to file and when I print. They do not appear when I use the glass scanner. The feeder worked fine until just recently.
A: Lift up the scanner above the auto feed. It takes a little force. Then if you look or feel around down inside the scanner you will find a plastic lens. This needs to be cleaned using alcohol and a soft cloth. You must clean it thoroughly. The streak is caused by some gum that has been transferred from a piece of paper onto the plastic lens.
