A: You can use Optical Character Recognition software to convert the scanned-in JPEG to a Word document, but don't expect perfection. OCR is an art, not a science, and I can almost guarantee you'll have to repair the following in Word: 1. Text misconversions. 2. Font changes. 3. Page layout. The more complicated the original layout, the harder it will be to reconstruct. It's usually better to keep the original Word document for later revision than it is to expect a scanned-in copy to be a suitable replacement. Sorry.
