A: Can you describe the dots? Do you mean you see a funny pattern on the image that's made up of dots? If so, does your scanner give you a dialog box on your computer, and does it give you some setting choices? Look for one called "descreen". What happens is when you scan from a magazine, because that images is made up of tiny dots, you get "moire" patterns. Some scanner software can look for that and compensate for it. That's what the descreen function does. So if you have that option, check the box for it. It should help.
