I have installed all of the software for my printer, but it still won't work. Please help!!!?

Q: I have been struggling with my new HP D1520 printer for a week now. I spent hours attempting to install the software properly; I believe I resolved this problem by downloading the driver and software from the support site. Now a new problem is presenting itself: My printer is shown as "ready", but when I try to print things, it doesn't recognize the documents. I have tried everything I can think of. I turned the printer offline and it now registers that there are documents waiting to be printed, but it will not print them. I am beyond frustrated -- please help me!

A: Did you follow all the installation instructions to the letter? Sometimes things like plugging the printer into your computer before installing the software will cause TONS of problems. You may want to do a complete uninstall and reinstall. You may want to use the "scrubber" utility that is on your driver CD in order for everything to be removed. Since your printer is new, call HP tech support and have them walk you through the process. If it still doesn't work, they can assist you with troubleshooting.
