Q: ok i have a gateway laptop, just got it a week ago about, I have a router, obviously i can get online, but when i tried to connect my printer wirelessly, (printer is a hp photoshop c4280) it won't work. On my desktop, I enabled printer sharing, I believe, and I added the printer onto my laptop and it was online but it wasn't printing and it said error. What do I do so I can print from my laptop wirelessly. In easy terms please, I have a report to do, it can wait but I need to know! It's making me mad and frustrated, I would like to print wirelessly. Help me, PLEASE?? first answer that helps, gets B.A.
A: 1. Since your laptop has Vista on it (more than likely) did you download and install the Vista drivers? Did you point them to the "shared name" of the printer when it asked you the port information? 2. On the laptop: Once you installed the drivers and it "prints" the test page. Did you go into network neighborhood and right click on printer and click on "connect"? Sometimes after doing this you have to remove the "first driver" you installed. I know it seems weird to install it than remove it, but that usually does the job.
