Q: I print approximately 30-60 pages a day, of notes for school. I almost always print in black and white, on "quick print/lowest quality" settings, with my HP Photosmart Inkjet printer. I have to replace the black cartridge at least once or twice a month. If I invest in a small monochromatic laser printer, will I generally be saving money on ink versus continuing to use my inkjet printer? Specifically I'm looking into the HP LaserJet P1505. A: For sure. Inkjets are much more expensive for black and white only. Inkjet printer manufacturers make money by selling really cheap printers but really expensive ink that doesn't last long. I have had really good experiences with HP Laserjets. They last really long, and although the cartridges are more expensive, they last much, much longer.
