Q: I just bought 3 new cartridges for the thing (two others were replaced just a few pics ago) and now, after two unsuccessful printing attempts and having to clean my nozzles four times for the replaced black to work, my printer is telling me the two that I replaced earlier are already low and everything else is at the 1/2 way point - I JUST installed them!!!! Is there any photo printer out there that isn't crazy with the ink, that works and gives great pic results?!? Thanks - but I'm not upset at the clog, I did the clean, and it works, but now my ink levels are "low", which sure shouldn't be true. And the machine won't print when it reads there is no ink.
A: All inkjets require regular use or at least being turned on regularly, otherwise the heads clog. I have actually found Epsons to be better than most other brands my clients have tried. I have been recommending them for years and have seen hundreds in use. If your heads are truly clogged, which is what it sounds like, you can try removing the cartridge and dropping rubbing alcohol where the ink goes. Then put the cartridge back and try a few more cleanings. Once you get it working, make sure you turn the printer on once a day or better yet, leave it on. It doesnt take much power in idle mode. This will keep the ink flowing and prevent another clog. If you get it working, try http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp for good cartridges at low prices. I've been using them for years.
