Q: I'm not a computer expert at all, so I bought a wrong printer. Now I heard that this printer works, but I'm not sure. How do I connect the printer to the computer? Also, does this printer work with laptops, because it seems like a huge printer. and do I need to buy a USB printer cable seperately? are all cables the same or is there a specific brand or item? A: The short answer is, there should be no problem. If your laptop has a USB connection - as is the case with most - use that connection to run between your laptop and the printer. USB cables must be purchased separately. Now comes the most important part. Go to HP's web-site. In the support and driver download section, find the "driver" for the printer's model number and your laptop's operating system. Download that "driver". Follow their instructions VERY closely. Don't use the "driver CD" that came with the printer, because it may not be up to date. Hopefully this should work very well.
