HP DeskJet 970Cse was reset to print in black and white cannot reset to print in color.?

Q: Someone reset the printer to print in black and white. A cousin of a grandson, etc. I have looked and looked at everything that may have been changed. The printer is set to color, etc. Yes I have a color cartridge installed. I should be good as I have not been able to use it. Any advise? I have Windows Vista. I've managed to work around this but now the grandkids need to print in color. Plus, it just needs to work correctly.

A: I will try to help you with this one, but I am not an HP expert. My first suggestion is to verify that you are not printing in Grayscale. Try this: 1. Click Start, click Settings, and then click Printers. 2. Right-click the icon (picture) for the HP printer. 3. In the menu that displays, use the left mouse button to click Properties. 4. In the Properties dialog box, click the Details tab. (In Windows 2000, click the Advanced tab.) Check that the driver listed under "Print using the following driver or Printer" matches the HP printer you are using. The following setting may be in one of several places, depending on your printer driver and operating system. 5. In the Details tab, click Setup . Under Printout, select one of the color options. (If other options have check marks, click in the check boxes to remove the check marks.) If there is no Setup button, click the Graphics tab, and then click Color. Under Color Control, choose a color option, and click OK. If there is no Graphics tab, click the Advanced tab and look for the text "Print in Grayscale". If there is a check mark in the box by Print in Grayscale, click in the box to remove the check mark, and click OK. If you are using Windows 2000, in the Advanced tab, click Printing Defaults. Click the Advanced tab. The box by Print in Grayscale should not be checked. 6. Click OK. 7. Close the Printers window. 8. Open the software application that you were using to print. Try printing again. If this does not fix it. I would try going into my printer options and selecting "restore default". This will reset your printer to the settings it had when you purchased it. If neither of these help. I am sorry i couldn't have been of more help. I will say a prayer for you and your printer=)
