Why does my microsoft word (or printer) not print text documents?

Q: So I am trying to print out a document for school. I hook up to my photosmart 7550 printer and hit alt + p...It prints out all of the pages, but there is no text. Only a few pictures that were in my document. I thought it might have been the software, but it does not work on another laptop either. If I print a webpage it prints everything fine. But if I try to print on WORD or Notebook, it does not print the actual text. Why is it doing this. I have tried changing settings and nothing is helping..

A: Go to START menu, then printers and faxes. Right click your printer Select properties Click "Print test page" then click the OK button the windows help is useless IF the test page prints OK, then word has a problem and needs reinstalled If all the texst is missing the black cartridge is blocked and needs swapped on the printer. Pictures and webpages will print as they are printing using the colour inks.
