Q: hello i got my printer/scanner/fax a long time ago i know everything about it except how to work the fax? do i need a seperate telephone line to get my fax working? am i missing something to install? i have the comcast with power boost...if it helps with any information please help! i have not installed anything would that be the solution?
A: A "kid's line" will only run you a few dollars a month, so that might be something worth considering. Basically, you get another phone number for your primary telephone line with a distinctive ring which you should be able to set your fax machine to answer. Additionally, a separate fax line can cost upwards of $200 to install, plus you'll have additional monthly charges, so unless you're expecting a ton of faxes, it's probably not going to be worthwhile. Contact your telephone service provider for more information.
