Q: I'm going to label all of my binders for school. I was thinking putting those clear plastic page protectors through the printer to do that. Would that work? I have a laser printer and I would just be using black or white ink.
A: No, no, no, don't even try doing that. Standard plastic page protectors are not designed to go thru laser printers. The heat generated by the fuser assy to fuse the toner to the media will most certainly melt any plastic media not specifically designed to go thru a laser printer and cause you serious problems. You should only run media designed or approved for laser printers in laser printers, and some have even more stringent specifications than even the store brand laser approved media. Best thing to do would be to use labels (they do make clear ones if you like) as others have suggested, or purchase laser printer approved transparencies and use them as your dividers and attach tabs to them or something. Best of luck.
