Q: I have a Officejetk60 printer It's pretty old.. But i have a vista computer and when i scan something the image isn't very clear. Would a new printer scan my image clear? If so, what would you recommand?
A: If the scanner isn't clear it could be the bulb is getting dim, the glass is dirty, or you need an updated driver. But if it's an old printer, it's probably time to replace it since inkjet printers have a finite lifetime. Eventually the ink tank which holds the excess ink that doesn't make it to the paper gets full and then it stops working. I would recommend the Epson CX8400 scanner/copier/printer recently at circuitcity.com for $60 including shipping. It does beautiful scans and prints. For a year Epson will express-ship a replacement should you need it. Epson ink is expensive but you can get good cheap new cartridges (not refills) at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp for $25 a set which even includes an extra black.
