Q: I have heard that I can connect to the printer (an HP 1350v all-in-one) remotely to print. I want to be able to sit in my living room and print to the printer in my bedroom. Is this posible, and if so, how do I go about doing it? I'm not a "technical" kind of gal, so any "easy" instructions would be wonderful! Thanks so much!
A: While looking at the Specs for your printer I did not see Vista listed as a Operating System. If you can not get the printer to install on your Vista laptop, here is the Download site for your model: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=306895&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=306895 Also while looking at the Specs, I did not see anything about this printer being wireless. There is an optional external wireles print server that you can order to make it wireless. The HP part is: JetDirect 380X external IEEE-802.11b (Wi-Fi) wireless print server or you can purchase a wireless print server at any office store. It sounds like you need to download the Vista upgrade, buy a wireless router (if you do not already have one) and buy a wireless print server. In order to have wireless anything, you need to have cable/DSL internet. So you will need to buy a wireless router, this will give you wireless internet (if you do not already have it). If you have a wireless router (internet) then the wireless print server is hooked up to your wireless router. It is not a diffucult process, if you follow the directions included with the wireless print server. Once the wireless print server is working, your laptop should automatically detect it. Then all you will need to do is send your print job to the printer.
