Q: The internet is slow as well,and every time when I close an internet tab I have to send an error to microsoft. I am using XPSP2 and I installed the driver form the manufacturer CD.When I restore my computer it works well,but after reinstalling the printer the problem is the same. I am using a USB port. I did not use" add printer wizard",I am using IE 7 upgraded 1 year ago HP Deskjet F 2180
A: You didn't say whether your were on dial-up or broadband but my guess is that some "extra" programs installed by HP are eating up your internet connection. They sometimes do this to check for new product updates, send your configuration to HP or any of a number of dubious reasons. De-install the driver and use the Windows control panel Add Printer to install the driver instead. This usually helps to keep dealer-installed malware to a minimum
