Q: i am using a pc connected to my companies networking system, and a common printer for all personnel exists. I want to install an independent personal printer, and i keep getting 'ip address conflict' and i cannot download the printers installing software from the net. If by changing the IP address, is it possible , i could lose access to the web?
A: the problem is not with ur ip, the problem is with the printer's ip address, what u have to try is this: -- uninstall printer software (if u installed it) -- un plug the printer -- disconnect PC form company network -- restart PC -- make sure not to connect the pc again to network (for the time being) -- dont plug the printer yet -- try to install the printer software. -- while instalation the pc will request to plug in the printer and turn it on, -- then after u finish, if things go fine restart PC again -- then now u can connect back to company networ -- make sure to do these steps in order,, dont jump good luck
