A: that depends upon the cartridge. Anything with a print head on it is electroniclaly tested and visually inspected for flaws, if all is well it is remanufactured. Those which do not make the cut are either processed for plastic and copper or thrown out depending upon the facility. For thos that do not have print heads, any usable parts are striped like smart chips, some are remanufactured, such as epson, however most are broken down for the plastic.
