Which is cheaper: Lightscribe or Printing DVD Labels?

Q: My dvd labels contain loads of images & i'm worried about the excessive costs of new printer ink & the labels so would it work out cheaper for me in the long-run to buy a LightScribe Writer and LightScribe dvd's? If there is any other 'more professional' looking method that anyone else can suggest, please can you let me know. Many thanks.

A: If you want a "cheap" but fast printer DEFINATELY go with a $300 dymo disc painter, only use white glossy or silver hub printable DVD media with it- matte surface DVDs is no good it looks like crap. gorgeous on taiyo yuden white glossy or silver printable. the ink is $40 per cartidge and will print 100 dvds. it is tiny, its fast and has amazing results. if u give me an address ill mail you some examples i printed on mine.. one white and one silver ands one matte so you can see the difference. (i had to do trial and error and 90 dvds later before i figured out the shitty printing was the matte disks and not the printer itself) lightscribe sucks unless you have the patience of a saint. it can take 15-30 minutes PER DISK to burn the label, versus a max of 2 minutes for the dymo disc painter. $300 seems like a lot but its worth it if you seriously want great labels and i little printer that wont take up much room. its smaller than a shoebox. also-DONT buy an epson printer. its error rate is HIGH and you have to let your dvds dry for 24 hours after you print. you will end up wasting a lot of printable dvds with an epson b/c of the errors it gives-look it up online. but if you can get it to work it produces amazing prints but to me not worth so many lost dvds
