A: Ink cartridges are used in Inkjet printers and squirt out liquidy ink to print pages. Toner cartridges use a different kind of dry ink that is heated and fused with the printed paper. Yes, you can continue printing, but you will notice that the text/images you are printing become less and less visible and/or increasingly discoloured as your ink or toner runs out.
