Q: I just updated my system to SP3 on Windows XP and all of a sudden my printer refuses to "communicate" with my computer. Before this update my printer worked fine, it wasn't until after the update it started to say it wouldn't "communicate" and that i should try to either restart my computer, disconnect and reconnect the usb, or disconnect and reconnect the power cable for the printer. None of these worked to fixed the problem. I have a Versajette M300 printer by the way. Thanks
A: It sounds like one of the DLL files in the update over wrote a DLL supplied by the printer manufacturer. You probably will have to completely remove and reinstall the driver to get it to work again. Just reinstalling it may not work, it will see the DLL present and not reinstall it.
