why does my printer not finish printing?

Q: why does my printer not give me good end product and say paper jam but not jammed..good printer HP but not happy with end results

A: My first instinct is to tell you to check your printer's paper size setting and make sure it matches the size you have loaded in the machine. The reason I say this is your printer is giving you a false jam and you say it isn't finishing print jobs. If the tray is set to say ltr or a4 and you run legal or some other size the tray reads that the paper stopped early or too late depending on whether the size it thinks is in the machine is shorter or longer than is actually loaded. Be aware ltr is paper in the portrait direction and ltrr is paper in the landscape direction (same with a4/a4r), i would check these settings and make sure the guides are up against the paper in the tray. One last thought, look for small pieces of paper in the path or any obstructions and test your bypass or other tray to see if the problem is limited to the one tray.
