Is printing on both side of the paper a bad idea?

Q:

A: Depends. Duplexing is safe for printers and copiers - they wont be damaged by doing it. Duplexing is a good idea if used prudently and for the right application. Duplex printing will save reduce your paper costs, it is also good for the environment by using less paper. So yes it is a good idea. If you are printing a formal document it should not be duplexed. If you are in college check with your prof's if printing on both sides of the paper is ok. Duplex printing negatively impacts printer speed and reliability as well and not all material is well-suited to duplex printing. So in this case it would be a bad idea. My general feeling is print on both sides when applicable, if in doubt then print on one side only.
