My Printer Sucks?

Q: I'm going to kick this thing out the window. I have a paper on it that I haven't been able to get for 2 days. I keep going to print it, it says cartridge is jammed, whatever, thats fine. Then I fix it and it will do nothing. It sits on my desktop and the printer's folder just keeps refreshing like it's having a seizure. And I can't cancel the document, it just sits there and wont budge, even if I put something else on a higher priority, if I try to do anything it doesn't cooperate. I am usually pretty good with electronics, but this thing is driving me nuts. And I can reset the computer, but it takes way to much time to start back up and I'm hoping there is another option besides that.

A: Try this: turn off the printer. restart it while holding the offline button (or one of the buttons) This should print a test page. If your printer gets jammed while printing a test page, at least then you know it is not a software/Operating System problem. If it is a software problem, then unfortunately, you will need to reboot, to see if that fixes the problem. If it is a hardware problem, first try removing and replacing the ink cartridge, and make sure you've gotten all of the paper bits out of it. If that doesn't fix it then I would recommend buying a new printer. Buying a new printers is usually cheaper than getting them fixed. Hope this helps
