A: There are a lot of things that can cause these problems on a laser printer. For a white/blank page: - The software configuration is incorrect (intermittent problem). - The network configuration is incorrect. Some sharing devices on networks might generate a blank page as a printjob separator. - The toner sealing tape was left in the print cartridge. - The print cartridge is empty or defective (reseat/replace). - The laser/scanner shutter door is not opening correctly (a lever is broken or disengaged). - No transfer-roller voltage is being generated (bad high voltage PS or transfer roller). - The high-voltage connector springs to the drum cartridge are dirty or damaged (clean springs, reseat/replace cartridge). - The high-voltage circuit is defective. - The laser/scanner cable is defective. For a black page: - The print cartridge is defective. - The high-voltage connector springs are dirty or damaged(clean springs, reseat/replace cartridge). - The laser-beam drive circuit or highvoltage circuit is defective (not supplying the correct voltage). - The laser/scanner assembly is defective. - The cables between the laser/scanner assembly and the dc controller PCA are not seated correctly or are defective. These are all possibilities for a "write black" laser printer. This is when the laser scans the surface of the drum, and wherever it hits becomes the black printed area. For a "write white" printer, the possibilities above would be reversed. Hope that helps.
