Q: Our church has a MF 6550 Canon printer with zero instructions as to how to connect and make it print from the four computers on the network. Please can enyone "simply" tell me how? I saw an illustration where an address number was entered on a toolbar on some computer. We have seen no address number so we're stymied. Thanks I don't think the church has a disk. Yes, It is intended to be a network printer. I cannot find the canon website where I might download a driver. No computer is primary that I know of....we're still learning..
A: I'll assume that the Canon MF 6550 is a network printer. Otherwise I'd start with everything powered down (all computers and peripherals). I'll also assume that there is already a network system in place? If so, then you should be able to just connect the printer to your switch or router. Plug in the AC cord and power on the device. Go to the primary workstation and power it up. Open your list of printers. From here you should be able to "add" a printer and start program wizard. Select a network printer and follow the instruction of the wizard. Good luck.
