Q: i have laptop with vista and a desktop xp i need to be access the desktop xp network printer and copier that is attach with cat 4 from my laptop i shared the drive on the desktop how can access printer and programs on desktop using my laptop
A: Make sure you share the printer first of all. On the computer that has installed the drivers for the printer. Start> Control Panel> Printers and faxes Right click on the printer and click "Sharing" make sure you mark "Share this printer" On the computer without the drivers for the printer Open up Printers and faxes on this computer Add a new Printer and in the Wizard make sure to mark "A Network Printers or a printer connected to another computer" follow directions after that and it should work.
