Q: and printer. HP was giving $50 off on any printer if you bought this combo. Did HP make a mistake in building the combo? I mean like since both (the printer and scanner) break at different times.
A: Stand alone scanners are availble. I am not a big fan of combination machines. The one listed below is available from major office box stores and costs less than $100. The combo machine waqs made/developed to lower production costs, save space for the end user. The problem with them is just like you stated. If one part breaks the whole machine is garbage.
