Q: installed all 4 new epson ink cartridges into my Epson dx5050. printed a small picture which did not come out too good. i then did head cleaning and re-alignment. now its showing the 3 colour cartridges are empty and i can't print anything. surely they can't be empty they are brand new today. whats going on? can anyone help? I have tried uninstalling all software and re-installing it. It did not help.
A: If you used Epson Ink cartridges, the software did not reset so it is seeing them as empty. Remove and re-install the software off of the CD that came with the printer, this should fix the problem. **Update: Checked out the extensive notes on how to replace the printer cartridges. And I entered in the information you have given us: 1. Yes it is a genuine Epson Ink Cartridge 2. No I did not refill the cartridge 3. I'm guessing you removed just the "yellow" tape and nothing else off of the new cartridge 4. Yes the error is still on the cartridge's I replaced. Their only answer is that the cartridge is faulty. You may want to contact them or the place you purchased it to see if they will not replace it, since basically it came DOA (Dead on Arrival).
