Q: A HP tri-color cartridge contains Cyan / Magenta / Yellow ink in separate compartments. These three colors are mixed to come up with other colors. In refilling a HP tri-color cartridge, the refiller drills three small holes on top of the cartridge so that ink can be loaded. Do you know in which hole the Cyan ink is injected ? in which hole the Magenta ink is injected ? in which hole the Yellow ink is injected ? Thank you for your help.
A: The amount of ink that is put into each chamber depends on the cartridge. The smallest, HP 22, only takes about 2ml in each chamber, while the largest, HP 78, can hold 12ml per color. Easiest way to find out what color goes where is to use a toothpick, and see what color comes out when you push it into the hole. As it is different among different cartridges.
