Thermal transfer printing, thermal direct printing and inkjet printing: which one is cheapest in the long run?

Q: Hi guys, My old thermal direct printing fax machine just died (we just had the funeral, it was very sad..). Anyway, so now I want to buy a fax machine, but I can't seem to find any machines like my old one! I'm going to have to throw away all my thermal paper! So, what should I buy now? Which one is the most cost effective? Thermal transfer or inkjet? Or maybe laser? Thanks guys! Shant

A: laser printer is cheapest, just check the cost of consumables and how many pages they can do.
