Q: I would like to replace my current Canon inkjet with a new one. I want one that does not have chipped ink cartridges. My current model is the i850. Any suggestions? I'm looking for good photo prints at a low cost. I have been looking at printer cartridge prices, I just was hoping someone could recommend one over another.
A: The newer canon's that take the individual cartridges are all chipped. You can search on Ebay for some of the older Canon printers that are not chipped (Canon Pixma iP4000/6000), but the new ones all have chips on the bottom. Now there are replacements for those cartridges out there that are about 5-7 dollars cheaper than the OEM Canon cartridges.
