Q: i have a camera connected to my pc, it is filming my store 24 hours a day 7 days a week, is ok or should i turn it off every now and then, or is it completely wrong to leave a computer on for so long.
A: It depends how much you use your computer really. Booting is really rough on the hardware of a machine. Once fans and other mechanical devices are moving its easier to keep them moving rather than starting from a dead stop. If you only use your computer every couple of days I would suggest turning it off to save the life of those mechanical devices. The mechanical things such as the hard drive and fans are the only thing that can really wear out in a computer over time. So if you use it every day there really isn't any harm in leaving it running 24-7. Because if you boot it every day it also is rough on the components. So it really depends how you use it.
