Help with wires from PC Power Supply?

Q: I have two supplies, one working one not. The one that works doesn't have the square 4 pin connector that I need. I want to cut the wires off the dead supply and patch in to the working supply, the cables on the square 4 pin plug are 2x yellow & 2x black. Can I just connect these to the same coloured cables going to a cd drive or other device etc? Please help and don't want to try it and blow up the motherboard if I can avoid it.

A: it should work. yellow means 12v red means 5v black is ground i wouldnt try this for the motherboard connectors, only the disk drive molex conns. maybe the two yellow connectors are +12v and -12v. if they are, you dont want to cross them. only try this when u are %100 sure
