Q: I have a Gateway 6750 laptop w/Windows Vista...I can't even get the program to open...any suggestions??? I tried running defrag in safe mode--but it won't open...the little wizard box pops up when I try to open system restore & it says it's already running...isn't there supposed to be a window or something that pops up if it is??? maybe I don't have enough hard drive space free...how do I figure that out (how much is free)? this is confusing...Vista sucks, I don't have this problem with my desktop :O( I just read somewhere that defrag runs weekly on its own during low activity...but I've never noticed it before...what's up with this?
A: after the bios splash screen, before the Vista green bar of confusion (lol) hit F8 a few times, to bring up the boot menu Boot to safemode Then, once in safemode, run Defrag.
