Q: I've tried to back up my hard drive to a removable one using "SyncToy" and also Nero 7 "BackItUp". However partway through it fails, saying "Delayed write failed" and it says about my backup target. Then: "the specified I.O operation on \device\harddisk5\dr6 was not completed before the time-out period expired." In a popup thing. I also noticed my REMOVABLE harddrive light had turned off, which it doesnt usually do. And why, in computer manager does it come up in disk management as a partition? Surely it should be in removable storage? Whats up? It never used to do this.... BTW its been working for 10 months Thanks, Tommy
A: if you have vista try using the backup tool that is built into vista, check if the device has space left, please note: backup works best only when the hardrive your backing everything up onto has nothing on it, then backup backup will only work with NTFS, make sure its formatted to that and try the vista tool hope this helps anything else just e-mail me pengymad@yahoo.co.uk
