my mother board says it supports up 1066fbs,the cpu's I have picked out run 1333. Will they work?

Q: I have picked out budget cpu's.Can my mother board be over clocked on FBS? Or sould I just pick out a cpu that runs 1066? I'm a budget gamer.

A: The 1333 FSB processors will work, but you will be limited to the 1066 FSB that your motherboard supports for them maximum. So in essence you will be limiting say your quad core Q9300 processor for example to only 1066 FSB speed (4 cores then at 266 Mhz each instead of what they want to run at, ie. 4 cores at 333 Mhz each). With respect of overclocking, that is a different beast altogether. YOu mention that you are a budget gamer. You usually can't overclock too successfully on budget motherboards, RAM etc. so in your case the equipment you purchased probably isn't going to overclock too much, too well at all. In order to effectively overclock your processor, I would suggest a motherboard of at least $ 150.00 (ASUS motherboard preferably), a nice cooling case (like an Antec 900 type or better), a nice cooling HSF (Zalman 9700 for example) and decent RAM, like OCZ reapers or Mushkin Redlines for example. Sure these parts will cost you twice of what your budget stuff there costed you, but you will be able to get super overclocked performance. I just overclocked my Quad Core Q9300 processor which runs stock at 2.50 Ghz to 3.6 Ghz. on air cooling only using the above parts that I listed. I have effectively increased the clock speed of my processor by 44% by doing this. Best wishes in your overclocking, but make sure to get decent parts that will support the extra voltage you need to put through them to overclock your processor :)
