Q: I just got a new iPod Touch. Unfortunately, when I was removing the protective plastic it came in it left a strip of sticker residue on the shiny metal back of the iPod. How do I remove it without it smudging all over? I didn't think just plain water would do the trick. Thanks!
A: do not use nail polish remover, even though it is metal, i find it is dangerous to most surfaces. try putting some regular tape on the sticky surface. rub the tape on, almost heating it with the motion. then pull up fast. take a new piece of tape repeat. also, rubbing alcohol loosens the adhesive without tarnishing surfaces. if all else fails in the way of common household remedies, go for goo gone.
